Cold wave claims 157 lives in North India
New Delh, Jan 6: Despite a reduction in the intensity of cold waves in various parts of North India, the death toll of due to cold winds is now reported to be over 157.

Around 37 more deaths were reported on Wednesday, Jan 6 .

The 31 deaths were reported from Uttar Pradesh. The other six deaths were reported from Bihar.

Earlier on Tuesday, Jan 5, around 125 deaths were reported from across the country.

Delhi: Chilly winds bring mercury down to 3.4 deg C

New Delhi, Jan 31: Chilly Northwesterly winds today continued to leave Delhiites shivering with the mercury falling to 3.4 degrees Celsius, six degrees below normal. After a slight rise on Tuesday, the minimum temperature today continued its downwards movement for the second consecutive day, falling to 3.4 degrees Celsius, from 4.1 degrees yesterday. A slight mist was also witnessed in the morning though visibility levels remained normal at 1000m. The severe chill sweeping the National Capital could persist for another day.....
