New Delhi, Jan 6: A day after the meeting on Telangana issue ended in a deadlock, PRP chief Chiranjeevi met home minister P chidambaram to brief him about the deteriorating law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh.

Talking about his meeting with Chidambaram, Chiranjeevi said that he requested the home minister not to led the agitation for separate Telangana affect the academic sessions in various Universities.

"We requested him to ensure that students do not suffer due to the law and order problem. We also raised the issue of film shooting schedules going haywire due to the current tense situation prevailing in the state," said the PRP leader.

Chiranjeevi added that film production houses would be forced to leave the state and settle down in Chennai if a lid is not put on the continuous tension.

The visit by the PRP leader was followed by home minister's meeting with a group of anti-Telangana MPs and MLAs.

"We assured him that the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of 13 universities from coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalseema region has agreed to end the agitation," Congress MP K Sambha Shiva Rao, who was part of the delegation said.

Rao said that they were interested in meeting the home minister for further discussion.

Briefing about the delegation's meeting with Chidabaram, Union minister D Purandeswari said that Chidambaram was apprised about the situation in the state.

Purnadeswari said that  though the two viewpoints on Telangana, it would be incorrect to call the house as divided over the issue, adding that JAC of universities would arrive in New Delhi for an appointment with Chidambaram.
