New Delhi, Jan 5: A fresh FIR under 306 (Abetment to suicide) has been registered against the former DGP SPS Rathore, accused in the Ruchika molestation case by the Haryana Police on Tuesday, Jan 5.
According to media reports, Haryana police has also sought the transfer of the case to CBI.
"We have registered a case for abetment to suicide after complaint by Ashu Girhotra. We have requested for the case to be transferred to CBI," said Panchkula Superintendent of Police Maneesh Chaudhary.
The 3rd FIR against Rathore came four days after a complain was lodged against him by Ruchika's brother Ashu Girhotra.
Commenting to the FIR filed against the former DGP, Ruchika's lawyer, Pankaj Bhardwaj said that it would be 'major blow to Rathore'.
14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra, a student at Sacred Heart school was molested by SPS Rathore in 1990 and was forced to commit suicide in 1993.
