L&T bags Rs. 987 crores worth GNLF project

Mumbai, Jan 4: Larsen & Toubro's Engineering & Construction Division defeat global EPC contractors to bag the Rs.987 crores project Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Limited (GNFC) to set up the 1120 MTPD Ammonia equivalent, Natural Gas based Synthesis Gas Generation plant at Bharuch, Gujarat in Jun 2012.

The project was handed over to L&T based on its expertise in executing critical plants for fertilizers and refineries, with the added feature of lump sum turnkey basis which include process technology.

Globally renowned synthesis gas technology of Haldor Topsøe, Denmark will be used by L&T for the GNFC plant.

L&T will handle process license, know-how and basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, interconnection with existing facilities, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and performance guarantees.

GNFC plant project is the maiden feedstock conversion project to convert FO/LSHS based ammonia plants to natural gas in order to cut down energy consumption per MT of ammonia, based on the Government of India directives.

GNFC has the honor of being the one of the India's leading companies engaged in manufacturing and selling fertilizers and chemicals, which have an ammonia plant based on Fuel Oil (FO) / Low Sulphur Heavy Stock (LSHS)

'India sought only 3 suspects, not 20'
