Cold wave claims 100 lives in N India
New Delhi, Jan 4: Atleast 100 people have been reported dead as the cold winds continue to grip north India, according to media reports.

The death toll in Uttar Pradesh has reached to 72, in addition to 16 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

Shimla experienced the first snowfall on Sunday, Jan 3 which was recorded at over 10 centimetres by evening.

Met Department said that the region will witness more snowfall in the next two days.

Delhi and neighbouring areas witnesses rainfalls which brought the temperature down drastically.

Dense fog led to delay in trains and spelled havoc in traffic signals.

In Punjab and Haryana several trains were delayed due to dense fog, while traffic signals were hampered due to poor visibility.

The temperature in parts of Amritsar was recorded as 3°C.

In Bihar, heaters are being used by authorities to keep the animals warm in Patna zoo.

Authorities of Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park have reportedly made special arrangements and have covered the enclosures with straw mats.

Assam Company commences oil delivery from Amguri field

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Assam Company Ltd (ACL) has begun delivery of oil from its operated field in Amguri to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) refinery in Guwahati, Assam, about 115 km away. The oil is being sold at the same price as a basket of crude oils with similar characteristics traded in the international market, a company release here said. The oil produced from Amguri is first trucked to Oil India Ltd (OIL) facility at Moran.....
