Soren promises corruption-free govt
Ranchi/Mumbai, Dec 29: JMM chief Shibu Soren assured a corruption-free government in Jharkhand on Dec 28.

"Our efforts will be to provide a clean and stable government. Jharkhand is a mineral-rich state but the people remain poor. Our efforts will be to uplift the poor," said Soren after his meeting with BJP president Nitin Gadkari in Mumbai.

Soren reached Mumbai to meet the Gadkari along with AJSU chief Sudesh Mahto, BJP state president Raghubar Das and senior BJP leader C.P. Singh.

Welcoming Soren, Gadakri had supported the ties between BJP-JMM in Jharkhand and announced that Soren will be sworn in on Dec 30.

"I know Gadkari's background and it is our desire to work with him. We are confident that the BJP will not betray us," he said, adding that he had invited Gadkari for the swearing-in ceremony.

Soren lost to Jharkhand Party candidate Gopal Krishna Patar by 9,200 votes.&13; The counting for Tamar Assembly Constituency began on Thursday, Jan 8 at 8 am amid tight security.&13; Soren was seeking to enter the Assembly within the stipulated six months after assuming office on Aug 27.&13; The seat fell vacant after JD(U) legislature party leader Ramesh Singh Munda was gunned down.....
