Telangana issue: Pranab promises good news
New Delhi/ Hyderabad Dec 30: As the deadline for decision on separate Telangana came to an end, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee promised good news for the agitators on the issue in the future.

“Pranab Mukherjee asked us to withdraw our resignations and assured us that there will be good news on Telangana issue in the near future. We are also waiting for some special news on the issue," said State Information and Tourism Minister Geeta Reddy after the meeting.

Earlier, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao had given an ultimatum to Center to come up with a time-frame by Monday, Dec 28, failure to do so will result into an indefinite bandh.

The all-party joint action committee had also announced a shutdown on Dec 30 after a six-hour meeting on Sunday, Dec 27 to intensify the agitation.

The TRS leader KT Rama Rao has said that they are going to hold a peaceful protest.

The JAC meeting was attended by all leaders of all major parties including ruling Congress, opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).
