Telangana issue: JAC calls for Shutdown on Dec 30
Hyderabad, Dec 28: The demand for separate Telangana may take a more intensive turn as the all-party Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Telangana on Sunday, Dec 27 announced shutdown on Dec 30

JAc came up with the decision after a six-hour long meeting to determine thier next plan of action to intensify the agitation for separate Telanagana.

The protest rally will be taken out across the region on December 28-29 to pressurize the Center to accelerate the process for formation of Telangana state.

Demanding withdrawal of cases against the agitators, JAC headed by M Kodandaram urged the government employees and lawyers to stop attending duties.

The committee also demanded the withdrawal of additional police and para-military forces which was deployed by the Center in the wake of the agitation in the state.

Assembly Speaker Kirankumar Reddy was also urged to accept the resignation of the 70 legislators.

The first meeting of JAC was attended by leaders of all major parties including ruling Congress, opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).
