Communist Party of India (M) to effect changes in top leadership, says Bhattacharjee

New Delhi, Dec.27 (ANI): Politburo of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) is all set to make changes in the party's top leadership to rejuvenate the party in country.

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjeel and a member of the Politburo disclosed this in the national capital on Sunday (December 27).

Members of the Politburo here discussed possible rectifications at a meeting held to take stock of the political situation, members of the politburo also discussed the possible changes in the leadership.

"We are trying to rejuvenate our party and therefore we have come out with some new proposals, new ideas, dos and don'ts. This is something to rejuvenate our party," said Bhattacharjee.

Reportedly, several party leaders have demanded a change in the top leadership after the reversals which party had faced in the recent provincial by-elections.

"It (change) will start from the top, and today we have discussed how to start it from the politburo and central committee and we had one round of discussion, we will continue this in Kolkata at the central committee meeting." added Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

CPI (M) managed to win just 24 seats, coming down from the previous figure of 60 in the parliamentary elections held this year the
