New Delhi, Dec. 24 (ANI): Mrs. Coomi Kapoor, Editor and Columnist, has been elected unanimously as the Secretary General of the Editors Guild of India, while Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor in Chief CNN IBN and Mr. Rohit Bansal, Senior Editor have been elected as President and Treasurer respectively at the Annual General Meeting held in New Delhi on December 22, 2009.
Ms. Kapoor has served as Resident Editor of The Indian Express Group and her weekly column on political developments is hugely popular. Ms. Kapoor succeeds K S Sachidananda Murthy, Resident Editor, Malayala Manorama and The Week, who was Secretary General for three terms.
After a successful stint in print journalism, Mr. Sardesai is a respected editor and anchor of CNN IBN. He has been honoured with several awards for his journalistic work and he writes a weekly newspaper column on contempareneous issues.
Mr. Bansal had a long stint in financial and general journalism and has worked as Resident Editor of Financial Express, Business Editor of Zee News and Managing Editor of India TV. (ANI)
