26/11 report tabled in legislature on Dec 21

26/11 report tabled on Dec 21
Mumbai, Dec 22: Ram Pradhan-V Balachandran Committee report on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks was tabled in the Maharahstra legislature on Monday, Dec 21.

This came after the Opposition demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the reports' alleged 'leak' to the media.

Though the opposition said that there were similarities between the 'leaked report' and the inquiry report tabled in the house on Monday, Dec 21 the Chief Minister Ashok Chavan rejected the demand.

There was no discussion on the report.

The government will be setting up 16-member committee headed by Chavan to look into all aspects of the report and recommend further action.

In the monsoon session, the government had tabled only a part of the report and an Action To Be Taken Report, but the opposition demanded the entire contents of the report be placed before the house.

Following an uproar over the report last week, the Home Minister RR Patil promised that the report would be tabled on Dec 21. He, however, said that it would be appropriate to make it public as there were many 'sensitive issues' mentioned in it.
