NCP terms decision on separate Telangana 'hasty'
New Delhi, Dec 20: National Congress Party on Sunday, Dec 20, criticised the Centre for making 'hasty' announcement on the formation of separate Telangana state.

"A new problem was created with the hasty decision of the Government of India on announcing the creation of a new state of Telangana," senior NCP leader PA Sangma said while presenting the political resolution at the day-long national convention of the party.

"The announcement of the Centre agreeing to the creation of a separate Telangana state had led to a political crisis pushing the states to a battlefield by various political parties." he said

"Inspired by the stand of the Central government, more and more people are demanding formation of new states. NCP does not agree to the approach of deciding things in a haphazard manner," the resolution said.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi had also ablamed a "delayed decision" and "hasty announcement" on Telangana for the present situation in Andhra Pradesh.
