Washington, Dec 19: Sikh Coalition, a community advocacy group, has raised a cry over a brutal attack launched against a Sikh student by a group of four men in West Texas.
The Sikh graduate student, working as a part-time pizza delivery person, was thrown into a swimming pool and brutally assaulted, the group said in a media release.
The young man was attacked when he was delivering the pizzas ordered by the men. The men, who took the pizzas, refused to pay the student and started abusing him.
"I'm going to **** you up in Iraq, I'm going to **** you up in Afghanistan, I'm going to **** you up over here," the assailants are quoted as saying in the release.
The attackers, then, put the student in the swimming pool and kicked him every time he tried to get out.
After about 20 minutes, the youngster managed to flee, the release said.
The identity of the victim has been withheld for his protection, and the group has also not revealed any detail on when the attack took place.
The group has alleged that the local police are uncooperative and that they refused to file a hate crime complaint.
Department of Justice (DOJ) is currently investigating the matter as a possible federal hate crime, the group added.

"It is clear from the attackers' references to 'bin Laden' and 'Go back to Afghanistan' and the fact that they kicked off his turban that this assault targeted not only him as an individual, but his Sikh identity," the said stated.Department of Justice (DOJ) is currently investigating the matter as a possible federal hate crime, the group added.
