Bernanke is TIME's 2009 'Person of the Year'
New York, Dec 16: Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke was named TIME magazine's 'Person of the Year' for 2009.

"56-year-old Bernanke was picked for his efforts to shepherd the US out of the biggest economic slump since the Great Depression," Managing Editor Richard Stengel said.

Time has called the Fed Chief as "the most powerful nerd on the planet."

He beat out Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, Obama, Apple CEO Steve Jobs, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi among other finalists.

The magazine chose President-elect Barack Obama as the winner in 2008.

Videocon submits EoI for Motorola handset unit

{image-videocon logo1_05042008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Apr 5: Consumer electronics giant Videocon Industries today said it has filed an expression of interest (EoI) for Motorola Inc's handset business, saying the whole acquisition process will take time on account of clearance from the regulatory body. ''We have submitted the EoI for the Motorola's handset business, and that will take some time because of regulatory clearance in the United States,'' Videocon Chairman and Managing Director V N Dhoot told reporters here on the sidelines of releasing.....
