US: IITians sentenced for 5 years
Chicago, Dec 12: Vikram Buddhi, IITian who has convicted for posting hate mails against former US president George W Bush has been sentenced to 57 months imprisonment at the Chicago Court on Friday, Dec 11.

Buddhi will undergo additional 3 years of supervised release.

However he can appeal against the sentence at the Chicago within 10 days as he has already spend 4 years in prison since April 2006.Buddhi represented himself as he fired his lawyer on the grounds that he was not discussing the case properly with him and not giving him proper time.

Back home in India, Buddhi's parents have been appealing to the government to intervene into the matter.

Mumbai, Jul 6: Captain B K Subbarao, father of Indian scholar Vikram Buddhi, who is now behind the bars, has sought PM Manmohan Singh's urgent and immediate intervention, seeking justice for his son who has been jailed in the US despite completing his 57-month jail term on May 6. Buddhi was jailed for allegedly posting messages on Internet Yahoo space which had called upon the people of Iraq to retaliate the perceived unjust Iraq war and to kill President G W Bush, Vice.....

Vikram Buddhi is nnocent. He is the victim of an arrogant & hostile US state. We need to launch a struggle in India & the US for his freedom. Jai Ho !!
