Mumbai, Dec 10: A school principal was arrested on Wednesday, Dec 10, for molesting a Class V student on the school premises.
The 49-year-old Ravindra Nair, the principal of the Karthika English High School in Kurla (West) allegedly sexually abused the 11-year-old girl on Tuesday, Dec 8.
The incident came to light when the girl told her parents, who along with some political activists stormed the school and nabbed the principal.
The accused was then handed over to Vinoba Bhave Nagar police on Wednesday, Dec 10.
“We have registered a case of molestation against school principal Ravindra Nair. According to the girl"s complaint, Nair would walk into the girls toilet and sexually abused the students," said Senior Police Inspector Krishna Choudhari of V B Nagar police station has been quoted as saying in news reports.
Besides the perverted habit of peeping into the toilets, there are news reports that the accused was charged with a similar offense seven years ago.
