Maha gears up for CISF like force for state
Nagpur, Dec 10: Maharashtra government will soon have its CISF like state industrial security force to safeguard its various organisations in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks.

"A bill on the issue was drafted after the Centre's suggestion to the State Government to consider raising the state's own Industrial Security Force to share the burden of CISF and ensure proper security arrangements for private and public sector industries," minister of state for home Ramesh Bagwe said.

CISF Act 1968 which was amended by the Center enables the private and joint venture industrial undertakings to make avail of security services.

Bagwe said that the security task force which will be formed after the bill is tabled in the legislative assembly, will assist the police force in tackling terrorists activities in the state.

Members of the security force will be trained by government and will enjoy powers like arresting of people involved in anti-social activities.
