UN commission probing BB murder case to meet 'everybody' in search for leads

New York, Dec.9 (ANI): The UN commission probing former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination case, would meet any body who provides important leads in the case, a UN spokesman has said.

Responding to complaints of some Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leaders that they were not being allowed to meet the commission members, the UN spokesperson said the commission would continue to meet 'everybody'.

When asked about the extension of the term of the commission, which was sought by its Chairman Heraldo Munoz, the spokesperson refused to divulge much, but admitted that the commission's work has been greatly affected by Pakistan's deteriorating security conditions, The Dawn reports.

The three-member commission, headed by Chilean Ambassador to the UN, Munoz, which began its work on July 1, was mandated to submit its report identifying facts and circumstances concerning Bhutto's tragic death in December 2007 to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon by December,31,2009.

However, last month, the commission had sought extension saying its work was affected by the chaotic situation in Pakistan. (ANI)
