Pak team defuses rumours of conflict between pacers

Napier (New Zealand), Dec.9 (ANI): The Pakistan team management today acted to defuse rumours of a conflict between two of their fast bowlers Mohammad Aamer and Umar Gul after New Zealand were beaten in the second cricket test in Wellington.

Media on the subcontinent reported the pair coming to blows at the Basin Reserve, soon after Pakistan levelled the three-match series on Sunday with a 141-run victory.

The pair did have a disagreement over their respective fielding positions during New Zealand's unsuccessful run chase, which required intervention from captain Mohammad Yousuf.

A source close to the team had confirmed the dressing room incident and both players were fined 200,000 rupees following a disciplinary hearing.

Pakistan team manager Abdul Raqeeb, however, denied the pair had an altercation in the dressing room.

Gul and Aamer both trained today at a jovial practice session ahead of Friday's third and final test at McLean Park. (ANI)
