Ludhiana violence: Protestor fell to police bullet
Ludhiana, Dec 5: Just minutes after curfew was lifted in three police station areas of Ludhiana, a clash has been reported between the police and Sikh protesters resulted in one being killed when the police fired in the air to disperse the crowd.

Violence erupted when the police tried to stop clashes between two religious sects when Dera supporters marched towards the venue where the Maharaja of the Dera noormahal was holding a
gathering.

Sikh supporters had warned in advanced against the holding of the  meeting.

In an attempt to disperse the crowd police resorted to tear gas shell and fired in the air which incidentally hit one of the protesters.

Hours before violence erupted again in Ludhiana, curfew was lifted from three police station areas of Division No 7, Sahnewal and Shimlapuri which was imposed after the protest by migrant labourers turned violent on Dec 4.

Labourers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh had blocked the Delhi-Ludhiana-Jalandhar National highway and burnt vehicles in protest against the alleged snatching of money from them every month.

Check nutrient deficiency in paddy: PAU

Ludhiana, July 15: The scientists of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have advised the farmers to check the onset of nutrient deficiency in paddy. The Plant Clinic of PAU has been receiving samples which are deficient in zinc or iron and those suffering from diseases like sheath blight and brown spots. Dr D S Bhatti,iIncharge, Plant Clinic, informed that the symptoms of zinc deficiency in paddy appear 2-3 weeks after transplanting.The lower leaves.....

Punjab: New pea variety with high nutritional value

Ludhiana, Aug 28: A new variety of pea, classified as Punjab-89, has been developed by the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) which has a high nutritive value. This variety contains high percentage of digestible proteins, which is around seven per cent alongwith carbohydrates and vitamins, PAU Head of the Department of Vegetable crops, Dr J S Kanwar revealed here today. i m the citizen of punjab and i m living in ludhiana.violence in ludhiana is fully supported by the local police.all this is done with help of police.Govt is also supporting of the close call.how they waves the sword's in the air and no one stop them. why not the Govt banned the sword'.its the 3rd day and the condition is very bad. tomorrow evening six people are killed and the next day still market is close.in the end i wanna say that all this is going for votes no one is caring for the people's.
