ULFA chief Rajkhowa handed over to India
New Delhi, Dec 4: United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) chief Arabinda Rajkhowa, who reportedly surrendered before the Bangladesh Police, was handed over to the BSF along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya.

According to sources, Rajkhowa, along with ten others, including ULFA's military operations deputy chief Raju Barua, were handed over at the Dawki outpost in the Jaintia hills district.

Sources also said that along with them were Rajkhowa's bodyguard, his wife and two children, Raju Barua's wife and son, and wife and daughter.With ULFA chief now surrendering, hopes have increased about a positive push to take the peace process forward.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has already shown olive branch to the ULFA, saying people of Assam want peace in the state.

Bomb blast in Guwahati leaves 4 injured

Guwahati, May 18: At least four persons were injured when a bomb exploded in the Fancy Bazar area near the Guwahati jail today at around 1130 hours.
