'Kingfisher, Jet Airways, SpiceJet top debt list'
New Delhi, Dec 4: While the state-run airlines Air India doubled its losses a few days back, the plight of the private domestic airlines are not any better. Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel has revealed that Kingfisher, SpiceJet and Jet Airways top the list of airlines which owe big to Airports Authority of India (AAI).

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Patel on Thursday, Dec 3 informed that Kingfisher, Jet Airways and SpiceJet lead the pack of private domestic airlines that have not cleared their dues to the airports operator.

While Kingfisher with Rs 167.9 crore, Jet Airways with Rs 64.54 crore and SpiceJet with Rs 15.43 crore have the largest outstanding dues payable to the AAI as of Oct 31, other airlines yet to clear outstanding dues include GoAir with Rs 9.08 crore, Indigo with Rs 8.72 crore and Paramount Airways with Rs 8.53 crore.

Aviation industry across the world has been one of the worst affected sector by the global economic slump.

NGO stages dharna at film festival office against serving liquor

Panaji, Nov 30: Protesting serving of alcoholic drinks at the venue of the ongoing 38th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), various NGO groups on Thursday staged a demonstration in front of the old GMC building demanding cancellation of licence to the Kingfisher company.
