Infosys to double workforce in US: WSJ
Bangalore, Dec 3: India's second largest software exporter, Infosys is reportedly planning on doubling its headcount in US by hiring about 1,000 employees.

Apart from this, the company is also on a lookout for acquisition targets in Germany, France and Japan, reports Wall Street Journal.

The report published on Thursday, Dec 3 quotes the company's Chief Executive S Gopalakrishnan as saying that the company will be hiring 1,000 employees in the US

Like other IT majors, Infosys, which derives about 66 per cent of its revenue from the US market is establishing foundations to be ready for any expected rise in outsourcing deals as the techonology spending picks up in developed nations, WSJ notes.

The company is trying to decrease the extent of US exposure by increasing its operations in Europe and Asia.

Speaking on acquisitions, S Gopalakrishnan told the leading business publication, "Ordinarily we look at a company of 10pc of our size."

Apart from the company looking for a prospective target of 300 million dollars to 500 million dollars in annual revenue, Gopalakrishnan did not reveal any further details on the business segments it is targeting for acquisitions.

Bangalore, Mar 09:  Biotechnology major Biocon on Thursday forayed into the nephrology space with the launch of a portfolio of five renal therapy products for the domestic and global markets, which it said was cheaper compared to MNC drug prices. The new immunosuppressants for renal therapy are at least 35-40 per cent cheaper than the MNC drug prices in the similar product category, the company's Marketing Head Rakesh Bamzai said.The Bangalore-headquartered company's Chairman and Managing Director, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said.....
