YSR's widow filed nomination for by-poll
Hyderabad, Dec 2: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajashekhara Reddy's widow, Vijayalakshmi has filed nomination for the bypoll to Pulivendula assembly seat on Wednesday, Dec 2.

Accompanied by her son and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Vijayalakshmi visited her husbands grave, before filing the nomination as Congress candidate at Pulivendula Tahsildar office.

Pulivendula assembly seat was previously held by the late Chief Minister and therefore the bypolls was necessitated by the sudden death of YSR.

The election is scheduled to be held on Dec 19.Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Praja Rajyam Party, Communist Party of India-Marxist(CPI-M) have announced that they would not contest to facilitate her unanimous election.

However, Lok Satta has revealed its desire to contest in the by-polls.

YSR votebank politics led to attack on Taslima

Hyderabad, Aug 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Andhra Pradesh today alleged that the votebank politics of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy led to the attack on Bangladesh writer Taslima Nasreen by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leaders in the city on August 9. Addressing a press conference here, BJP State unit Spokesperson N Ramachander Rao accused the Congress Government of dancing to the tunes of the AIMIM by not taking action against the assailants......
