Mobility India conference to commence tomorrow

New Delhi, Dec 2 (ANI): Ministry of Urban Development will organise three day Urban Mobility India Conference and Exhibition here from tomorrow.

Union Minister for Urban Development, S.Jaipal Reddy will inaugurate the conference and Saugata Roy, Minister of State for Urban Development will inaugurate the Urban Mobility Expo.

The aim of this conference is to bring together policy makers, decision makers, planners, engineers, manufactures and suppliers of various technologies in road and rail based modes of mass transit and associated technologies such as ITS, for mutual interaction and benefit from each others' work/experience.

International and National experts, who have led the implementation and operation of best practice projects, will share their experience and exchange information. Research agencies will present their findings on relevant issues.

This year, the conference theme is 'Sustainable Urban Transport'. Presentations will be largely based on case studies of best practice projects with the following sub-themes:

Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority, Service Level Benchmarks, Strategies for Parking, Planning for Special Events, Transit Oriented Development, Mobility Issues of the Disadvantaged, Intelligent Transport Systems, Fare Collection Systems and Fare Policies and PPP in Urban Bus Operations and Maintenance Strategies. Early weight gain leads to mobility problems in old age
