FBI forbids Headley-Rana questioning
Washington, Nov 28: FBI has said that Indian investigators will not be allowed to question Headley and Rana because of its legal systems which prevents it from granting access to the two accused.

Citing Us legal system that protects the right of the accused, Jones said that Indian investigators will not be granted access to the accused based on those system.

"There are certain aspects of our legal system that protect the right of the accused. In our system, those rights are protected,"US National Security Adviser James Jones said.

However, he said that on president Barack Obama's instruction US authorities will share information with India regarding the case within the country's legal system.

"We are going to do everything we can within our capabilities and respecting the legal boundaries that effect people in the United States and people in India," Jones said.

The decision is the outcome of Obama-Manmohan meeting in Washington on Nov 24, in which prime minister Manmohan Singh is said to have discussed Headley-Rana case with president Barack Obama.

Earlier, a team of Intelligence Bureau and RAW officials had been to US to question both David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana who were arrested by FBI for plotting terror attacks on India on Oct 3.
