Microsoft's CFO to log off, Klein named successor

Microsoft's CFO Chris Liddell to leave
Redmond, Nov 25: Microsoft Corp has announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Chris Liddell will be leaving the company by the end of the year.

On Tuesday, Nov 24, Microsoft said that Lidell was "looking at a number of opportunities that will expand his career beyond being a CFO."

The company also informed that Liddell will be staying at Microsoft through Dec 31 to ensure a smooth transition.

The 51-year-old New Zealander has been the CFO of the company since 2005.

Lidell helped Microsoft through the rough waters of global economic slump by implementing a hectic cost cutting plan.

The software major has named 47-year-old Peter Klein as Liddell's successor. Klein, who began working for Microsoft in Feb 2001, is presently the chief financial officer of Microsoft's business division.
