Bring 26/11 culprits to justice: Obama, Manmohan
Washington, Nov 25: Mounting pressure on Pakistan, the United States on Wednesday, Nov 25, joined India in underscoring the 'absolute imperative' to bring to justice the perpetrators of Mumbai attacks.

Meeting on the eve of the first anniversary of the 26/11 strikes, Singh and Obama acknowledged the common threat that international terrorism poses to regional and global security.

"The two leaders spoke of the "absolute imperative" to bring the perpetrators of Mumbai attacks to justice, " Indo-US joint statement issued after the 90-minute Singh-Obama talks.

"They expressed their grave concern about the threat posed by terrorism and violent extremists emanating from India's neighbourhood whose impact is felt beyond the region," the joint statement said.

The Prime Minister and the President recognised that the Indo-US partnership is "indispensable" for global peace and security and condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Singh and Obama also agreed to step up cooperation and collaboration on pressing global challenges like terrorism and climate change and decided to take new bilateral initiatives in education, healthcare and agriculture sectors.
