Karnataka: CET 2010 to be held from Apr 28 to 30

K'taka: CET to be held in Apr 2010
Bangalore, Nov 24: The Common Entrance Test (CET) 2010 for admissions into professional courses in Karnataka for the coming academic year is scheduled to be held from Apr 28 to Apr 30.

Higher education minister Aravind Limbavali on Monday, Nov 23 announced that the CET will be held on Apr 28 and Apr 29, 2010 while the test for Gadinadu and Horanadu candidates will be conducted on Apr 30.

The CET 2010 will be held at 228 centres across Karnataka.

Like every year, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will start issuing application forms in Feb 2010.

"Application forms will be issued in February, and candidates will have a month's time to apply," said a KEA official.

As free coaching for rural students was introduced this year, the KEA is expecting to see more number of applicants.

Speaking on the proposal of combining COMED-K and CET into a single common entrance test, Mr Limbavali said, "We will soon discuss the matter with representatives of the management of private institutes. Attending two entrance examinations is a burden for students. I am confident that the COMED-K will understand this."
