Fraudulent calls have across border origin: COAI
New Delhi, Nov 24: Warning mobile users on fradulent calls, Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), a GSM operator lobby advised mobile users not to fall prey to fraudulent 'Prize Winner Scam' calls on Nov 23.

COAI advised users not to divulge personal details like voter ID number, bank account and credit card information to false calls which say that they have won a prize, adding that such calls has been traced to have cross the border origin.

"I have been given to understand that in these types of phone frauds, the fraudsters pretend to be representative of a mobile operator. The callers trick users into giving personal information and asked them to pay money saying that they have won a prize," COAI officiating Director General T R Dua said.

Dua also advised against using mobile browers while surfing through the sites as some sites contain unreliable and questionable content.

The COAI declaration came after reports of  the growing number of such calls lately.

Assam Company commences oil delivery from Amguri field

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Assam Company Ltd (ACL) has begun delivery of oil from its operated field in Amguri to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) refinery in Guwahati, Assam, about 115 km away. The oil is being sold at the same price as a basket of crude oils with similar characteristics traded in the international market, a company release here said. The oil produced from Amguri is first trucked to Oil India Ltd (OIL) facility at Moran.....
