Pakistan says India cannot decide Kashmir issue unilaterally

Lahore, Nov. 23 (ANI): Pakistan's Foreign Ministry has said that India does not have the right to decide the issue unilaterally and the Kashmir dispute must be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions.

Reacting to Indian Primer Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's statement that India would not redraw the Indo-Pak border in Kashmir, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said that Kashmir was a pivotal part of the comprehensive peace dialogue between Pakistan and India.

In an interview with CNN, Dr. Singh had said: "I have publicly stated that there will be no redrawing of public borders. Our two countries can work together to ensure that peace is maintained, that trade is made free and ensure that encouragement is given for more people-to-people contact."

Furthermore, Basit said that Dr Singh's statement on Pakistan's alleged desire to occupy Afghanistan was beyond comprehension. (ANI)
