Pak govt. won't stop cricketers from participating in IPL: PCB

Islamabad, Nov. 23 (ANI): The Pakistan Government has assured the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt that it would not object to Pakistani players participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year.

"I have also spoken to the government which has verbally assured me it will not stop our players to go and play in the IPL if they got contracts from franchises," the Daily Times quoted Butt, as saying.

Ijaz said that he had told IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi about this, and that he would ensure maximum participation from Pakistan in the IPL.

"I also conveyed this to Modi and for this. I had a fruitful discussion with Lalit on the exact status of participation of Pakistan players in the IPL," Butt added. (ANI)
