Pak nukes falling in wrong hands concerning: India

New Delhi, Nov 23: Defence Minister A K Antony on Monday, Nov 23 expressed serious concerns over Pakistan nuclear arsenal safety.

"Threat of nuclear weapons falling in wrong hands remains an area of serious concern and consequences of such a situation are unimaginable," he said while addressing a seminar 'Changing Nature of Conflict: Trends and Responses'.

Antony said the recent terror-related incidents in Pakistan and Afghanistan have "thrust South Asia into a sub-conventional conflict and instability."

Speaking on the occasion, Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor said South Asia along with West Asia has emerged as "one of the epicentres of conflict and instability."

"Territorial disputes, provocation by proxy wars, religious fundamentalism, radical extremism, ethnic tensions and socio-economic disparities are the hallmarks of South Asia," he added.

Act fast, if not India may strike: McCain to Pak

Washington, Dec 7: US Senator and Former Presidential candidate John McCain said on Saturday, Dec 6, he believes that if Pakistan did not take necessary action against the individuals and groups linked to 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, India will conduct air strikes on select targets in Pakistan. He added that there is enough evidence of the involvement of former ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) officers in the planning and execution of the Mumbai strikes.
