Washington, Nov 21: 10 months in office and Obama's job approval rating has dropped below 50 percent against 60 percent decline in Jul 2009.

Attributing the 49pc plunge in approval rating to the national healthcare reform and economic crisis, Gallup Daily latest results has termed Obama as the fourth fastest post-World War President to drop below the majority line.

However said veteran pollster, Jeffrey Stonecash said that the decline in approval rating was bound to fall due to unrealistic expectation place upon Obama.

"He has huge problems trying to get this morass of the Democratic Party to move and to work to accomplish what he wants. The longer health care drags out the more his ratings are going to go down," he said.

The report also said that the drop in rating would have no direct bearing on his re-election in 2012 as he is likely to recover with the individual nightly number centering around the 50 percent mark in the recent days.

Obama's job approval rating had started dropping since Jul 2009.

The ratings of Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton dropped below the majority line in their 10 month and fourth month in office respectively.
