Canada: Multiple entry business visas for Indians
Editor's pick
Toronto, Nov 21: In what could be seen as positive outcome of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's visit to India, Canada has announced a new liberal business visa system to Indian businessmen which can be cleared within 24 hours.

Addressing a function by Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said that the new business system will offer multiple entry visas to applicants.

As a move to boost the bilateral relations between the two countries, Kenney said that they have also decided to double the inflow of Indian students to Canada.

Kenney said that Toronto has  announced a new nuclear cooperation pact and a mutual investment protection agreement inorder to facilitate the supply of enriched uranium for India's nuclear requirements.

"We're actively negotiating a nuclear cooperation pact and have an investment protection agreement, and have established one of our most widespread overseas networks in India, with three new trade offices opened by our government since 2006," Kenney said.

The function was attended by Indian Consul General to Canada, Preeti Saran.
