Toronto, Nov 18: The terror alerts in India's nuclear plant has left the Canadian media with a sour taste, to the extent that the media has warned the government against striking a nuclear deal with India.
Raking up the India's history to substantiate their point, one of the journalist who even misspelled Mahatma Gandhi as Ghandi was quoted as saying that India cannot be trusted as the country has reserved their nuclear technology to make nuclear bombs.
John Ibbitson of the Globe and Mail, had nothing but words of criticism for the Canada's nuclear agreement with India.
"Does Canada really want to help sell nuclear technology to a country that is the midst of such a volatile region, a country that in the 1970s appropriated our first foray into building Indian nuclear reactors to help fashion nuclear weapons, a country whose nuclear reactors would be an ideal ground zero for Jihadists?", Ibbitson said.
The criticism from the Canadian media comes in the wake of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh resolution to deepen bilateral ties.
