Goods train catches fire, 17 oil tankers charred
Guwahati, Nov 17: At least 17 oil tankers of a goods train were charred when a fire broke out in the locomotive near Mariani in Assam's Sibsagar district.

According to Northeast Frontier railway sources, the accidental fire in the petrol and diesel tankers broke out when the train was coming from Numaligarh refinery at about 9.30 pm last night, Nov 16.

Senior railway officials have rushed to the spot at a place between Barpathar and Bhirgaon and are making arrangements to clear the tracks.

Officials said train services have been disrupted in upper and lower Assam as the main track has been blocked. The Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express is among the trains disrupted by the fire.

Assam Company commences oil delivery from Amguri field

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Assam Company Ltd (ACL) has begun delivery of oil from its operated field in Amguri to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) refinery in Guwahati, Assam, about 115 km away. The oil is being sold at the same price as a basket of crude oils with similar characteristics traded in the international market, a company release here said. The oil produced from Amguri is first trucked to Oil India Ltd (OIL) facility at Moran.....
