Arrest of Coleman, Rana clearly establishes terror link originating in Pakistan: Preneet Kaur

Amritsar, Nov.17 (ANI): The recent arrest of David Coleman Headley, an alleged Lashkar operative in the U.S. of Pakistani origin, by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and his links with another terror-linked accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana has thrown light on the goings on Pakistan soil, claimed Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur.

"This is another proof of it, that this is going on in Pakistan, we hope that they (Pakistan) will see sense and they will come to the conclusion that they have to get rid of these camps and the places where the training takes place," Preneet Kaur said on Tuesday.

Kaur said: "It has been our constant belief that terrorism, taking place in India, has been given birth by Pakistan. They (terrorists) have used their soil to come and attack us in India. So this is the main reason that we have told Pakistan that they must stop the terror attacks, which has been animated from their soil to our soil."

Kaur said the international community already has joined hands with India in its fight against terrorism and there is a lot of international pressure on Pakistan to act against terrorist organizations existing in Pakistan.

Earlier, a high power delegation of Punjab industrialist and businessmen led by O. P. Soni, MLA, gave a memorandum to Preneet Kaur, urging Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to introduce special schemes to boost the industry, trade, tourism and infrastructure in Amritsar.

Soni said that the Union government has removed the Disturbed Area tag from all the district of Punjab as informed by the Union Minister for Home affairs on Feb 18, 2009 but still no passenger travelling from Pakistan by Samjhauta Express is allowed to disembark at Amritsar and rather taken all the way to Delhi.

He urged the Centre to allow at least the businessmen from Pakistan to visit Amritsar so that business ties could be more strengthen between the two since a lot of businessmen at Amritsar has been sending goods to Lahore through Wagah and Attari route.

Preneet Kaur, on this occasion, assured the delegation that Dr. Manmohan Singh is keen to promote business links with Pakistan, but Pakistan has to eliminate terrorism from its soil first.

Kaur also attended a school function at Majitha where former MLA Sawinder Singh Kathunangal and other Congress leaders welcomed her.

She later visited Golden Temple and also paid tribute to martyrs at Jalianwala Bagh. By Ravinder Singh Robin(ANI)
