US, Pak not working at cross-purposes: Obama
Washington, Nov 12: US President Barack Obama has said both Pakistan and America were working together to achieve their objectives in the region and dispelled the notion that both nations were working at cross-purposes.

During an interview with ABC News, Obama underlined that Washington has an effective partnership with Islamabad.

"We have an effective partnership with Pakistan that is working to achieve our goals in the entire region and that we're not working at cross purposes, that issues of corruption are dealt with, that we are identifying not just a national government in Kabul, but provincial government actors that have legitimacy ... right now," Obama said.

Replying to a question, Obama said Washington was not interested in staying in Afghanistan indefinitely.

He said that it was time that Afghanistan should also start sharing the burden of the country's security along with the international forces.

Act fast, if not India may strike: McCain to Pak

Washington, Dec 7: US Senator and Former Presidential candidate John McCain said on Saturday, Dec 6, he believes that if Pakistan did not take necessary action against the individuals and groups linked to 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, India will conduct air strikes on select targets in Pakistan. He added that there is enough evidence of the involvement of former ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) officers in the planning and execution of the Mumbai strikes. Senator McCain was in Islamabad with a Senate.....
