Infoys BPO acquiring US-based McCamish Systems

Mumbai, Nov 12: The business process outsourcing (BPO) arm of Infosys Technologies has inked a deal to acquire US-based McCamish Systems.

The company made the announcement on Thursday, Nov 12 informing that the acquisition will be made with an upfront payment of 38 million dollars, along with an additional 20 million dollars based on targets.

The acquisition is expected to be completed later in 2009.

The BPO arm of India's leading software service provider has been busy in the recent past with many projects.

Earlier this month, the company entered into an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up 22 BPO centres in rural districts of the state.

Infosys BPO has also announced its plans to increase its headcount by 2,000 employees by the end of the current fiscal.

Mumbai, Mar 14: The Sensex opened with sharp decline today by over 450 points in early trade on Bombay Stock Exchange following a setback on the global bourses.All Sensex stocks opened in red with heavy losses, as there was panic selling across the board. At 9.57 am, Sensex was down 453 points at 12,529 and Nifty was down 134 points at 3636. Major gainers in the opening trade were Rel Comm, Reliance, Satyam, ACC, Guj Ambuja, Infosys.OneIndia.....

Biotechnology major Biocon forays into nephrology space

Bangalore, Mar 09: Biotechnology major Biocon on Thursday forayed into the nephrology space with the launch of a portfolio of five renal therapy products for the domestic and global markets, which it said was cheaper compared to MNC drug prices. The new immunosuppressants for renal therapy are at least 35-40 per cent cheaper than the MNC drug prices in the similar product category, the company's Marketing Head Rakesh Bamzai said.The Bangalore-headquartered company's Chairman and Managing Director, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said.....
