Islamabad. Nov.11 (ANI): The Pakistan Presidency has suggested putting President Asif Ali Zardari's name in the father's name column of the legal documents of all orphans in the country.
Social Welfare and Special Education Secretary Imtiaz Qazi said that during a meeting recently, the Presidency asked the Senate's Standing Committee on Social Welfare and Special Education to prepare a list of all orphans in the country and put Zardari's name as father's name in their certificates.
During the meeting the Standing Committee also called for taking measures to bring about a qualitative change in the lives of physically challenged children in the country, The Daily Times reports.
The committee also suggested that the government should establish more educational and vocational training centres for such children.
Social Welfare and Special Education Minister Samina Khalid Ghurki told the committee that the government is pledged to work for needy children and was taking all measures for the social and economic security of deprived children. (ANI)
