New Delhi, Nov 11: The closing address of the 25th India Economic Summit organized by CII and the World Economic Forum resonated with the Home Minister's declaration that India is capable to face any threat.
“India has the confidence, the capacity, and the capability to stand up to any threat or challenge to our security" said Chidambaram in his address to the session 'A Roadmap for India"s Next Generation of Growth.'
Stating that threats would not effect economic development, Chidamabaram said "Our challenges do not affect our capacity to invite investment or promote growth. Indeed, we are better placed than many others and we are not in the cross-hairs of many terrorist groups."
Chidambaram said that the nation has thwarted threats for the past twelve months and the internal threats posed by Maoists and insurgency groups in Northeatern states too will get a fitting reply from the state government.
Echoing Chidamabaram's opinion, William D Green, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Accenture, USA said that India has a unique talent and a right social infrastructure could make India new business model in the world.
The closing day of the summit brought various suggestions for India with Indra Nooyi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, PepsiCo USA, calling for closing the “do –say" loop.
Carlos Ghosn, Chief Executive Officer Renault and Nissan, Japan, advised on the execution of the plans.
"Just get it done and growth will follow", Carlos said
