Pak Senate demands ban of Indian television channels

Islamabad, Nov.11 (ANI): The Pakistan Senate's Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting has called for a complete ban of Indian television channels in the country.

During a meeting, members of the committee raised concerns over the free broadcast of Indian channels in the country, saying they were ruining the nation's cultural values.

"Pakistani cable networks has been 'invaded' by Indian channels, while India has banned all Pakistani channels," The Daily Times quoted Senator Tariq Azeem, as saying.

Responding to a query during the meeting, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Syed Sumsam Bukhari said all such laws which affected media's freedom and were formulated during former President General Pervez Musharraf's regime would be abolished soon. (ANI)
