Irish filmmaker gets €46,000 after house disappears while he's overseas!

London, Nov 11 (ANI): An Irish filmmaker has been given 46000 euros in damages after his home was converted into a hotel car park while he was working overseas.

Neville Presho, 61, owned a 19th-century stone house on the remote island, nine miles off the coast of Donegal in north-west Ireland.

But when he returned to the Atlantic island in 1994, after living in New Zealand for six years, he found that his six-bedroom home had disappeared, and there was a hotel car park in its place.

Presho had sued the owner of Ostan Thoraigh Comhlacht Teoranta hotel, Patrick Doohan, and the judge ruled that the director would be awarded 60,000 euros in compensation and costs for the loss of his home, reports the Telegraph.

The judge said police could not get island residents to cooperate with the investigation into the house's gradual disappearance over a nine-month period, an event that "should have been obvious to all". (ANI)
