Cyclone threat to Indian western coast
Mumbai, Nov 11: Cyclone threat and heavy rains are forcing Mumbai to close down early and take shelter. Latest TV reports say that the government offices will be shut at 2.00 pm and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has directed the schools and colleges to close early.

A deep depression in the Arabian Sea led to the formation of Cyclone Phyan which is quickly heading towards the west coast of India.

Apart from forcing the country's financial capital to shut shop early, the cyclonic winds have begun to wreck havoc in the Konkan coast.

Authorities have started evacuating the low lying areas in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa.The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday, Nov 10 sounded an alert on the depression in the Arabian Sea. In its statement, the IMD put Gujarat, and northern Maharashtra on alert for rains and cyclone.

Karnataka, Goa and Kerala are also expected to experience heavy winds and the fishermen have been asked to refrain from going out into the sea.

'India sought only 3 suspects, not 20'
