Afghanistan losing fight against swine flu, says health minister

Kabul, Nov.11 (ANI): Afghanistan appears to be losing the fight against swine flu, as many parts of the country remain fairly unsanitary.

Kabul, which currently is the center of Afghanistan's H1N1 outbreak, has over 450 confirmed cases. This has led to schools and universities being closed. Large public gatherings have also been banned, and people have been advised to wear masks, reports CBS News.

The vurus has also affected the more than 300 foreign troops. A 140 suspected cases are American. Inoculation against swine flu for U.S. troops started Tuesday.

Afghanistan needs a million doses of the vaccine, claimed the country's Public Health Minister, Dr. Mohammad Amin Fatimie. (ANI)

Act fast, if not India may strike: McCain to Pak

Washington, Dec 7: US Senator and Former Presidential candidate John McCain said on Saturday, Dec 6, he believes that if Pakistan did not take necessary action against the individuals and groups linked to 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, India will conduct air strikes on select targets in Pakistan. He added that there is enough evidence of the involvement of former ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) officers in the planning and execution of the Mumbai strikes.
