Oath taking ceremony completed in Maharashtra Assembly

Mumbai, Nov 10 (ANI): The oath taking ceremony of all newly elected members of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly was completed today, a day after four Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) members were suspended for four years on charges of assaulting Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Abu Asim Azmi. here was pandemonium on the first day of the new Maharashtra assembly yesterday, when Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) legislators roughed up Samajwadi Party MLA, Abu Azmi for taking oath of office in Hindi.

As Azmi began to take oath in Hindi in the assembly yesterday, several MNS members swooped on him and pushed him aside. Azmi was even slapped by MNS member Ram Kadam inside the assembly.

Prominent among those who took oath on the second day of the three-day Legislative Assembly session included newly elected Congress MLAs Amit Deshmukh, Prashant Thakur and Rajiv Satav.All the members took oath in Marathi ,while BJP member Jaikumar Rawal took oath in Ahirani, the local dialect of North Maharashtra.The House assembled at 1100 hours and was adjourned for Wednesday within 18 minutes. Meghalaya: Elected MLAs to take oath on Tuesday

Shillong, Mar 10: All the 59 newly elected MLAs in Meghalaya will be administered the oath of office at a ceremony in Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
