Infosys BPO to hire 2k people in coming months

Infosys BPO hiring 1500 to 2000
New Delhi, Nov 9: Infosys BPO has announced that it will be hiring as many as 1,500 to 2,000 people in the coming months.

"We plan to hire 2000 people in the next four-five months or by the end of this fiscal. Currently, we are 16,000 people in India," Infosys BPO CEO Amitabh Chaudhry said while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.

This comes after the company inked a deal with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up 22 BPO centres in rural districts of the state.

Infosys BPO, which is the back-office unit of IT firm Infosys Technologies, gets most of its business from North America and Europe.

And in a bid to win more clients, the firm is reportedly trying to align with Finacle, the banking solution business of its parent apart from planning to establish a new delivery centre in US by this financial year.

Biotechnology major Biocon forays into nephrology space

Bangalore, Mar 09:  Biotechnology major Biocon on Thursday forayed into the nephrology space with the launch of a portfolio of five renal therapy products for the domestic and global markets, which it said was cheaper compared to MNC drug prices. The new immunosuppressants for renal therapy are at least 35-40 per cent cheaper than the MNC drug prices in the similar product category, the company's Marketing Head Rakesh Bamzai said.The Bangalore-headquartered company's Chairman and Managing Director, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said.....
