Honeymoon couples flock Manali

Manali (HP), Nov 9 (ANI): With the onset of the wedding season, Manali has become a favourite honeymoon destination for newly wed couples.

Manali is the sought after destination for spending quality time with nature and is also the place to spend cherished moments especially for newly weds.

The hill resort is often called the paradise for honeymooners.

"A week before we got married and then we thought let's celebrate it and leave it upto God, who has made in such a way that we never thought of. So, now we are here in this beautiful part of the world," said Vikas Gupta, a tourist from Delhi.

Himachal Pradesh tourism development says the business in the state was witnessing boom despite of the global financial meltdown.

"We are getting a better number although we were expecting that downfall in the market will affect us but the trend as it is going, we are not finding any change in it rather slowly and gradually we are growing up," said, Yogesh Behal, general manager of the Himachal Pradesh tourism development.

Right from adventure sports like paragliding, river rafting, skiing, trekking, mountaineering, ice-skating to relaxing and sightseeing, Manali gives its tourists a wide range of options to choose from.

Blessed with some of the most spectacular and beautiful landscapes anywhere, Manali is a traveller's paradise with lofty snow peaks, deep gorges, lush green valleys, fast flowing rivers, enchanting mountain lakes, flower bedecked meadows, beautiful temples and monasteries steeped in time.

Nearly four million tourists visit Himachal Pradesh every year and the figure has been increasing by about 15 percent annually. (ANI)

Over 1000 couples tie knots in mass marriage ceremony in Gwalior

Gwalior, Mar 2 (ANI): As an effective cost cutting measure, a mass marriage ceremony was hosted here in which more than 1100 couples tied the knots.A hallmark of this austere event organised by a voluntary body named Akhileshwar Trust was that a majority of the marriages solemnised happened to be inter-caste.The tying of nuptial knots was witnessed by thousands of guests.All the marriage arrangements were made by the organisers and every couple was also presented 'Mangalasutra' jewellery.....
