Hinduism alone can keep society together: Bhagwat

Shimla, Nov 9: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Nov 8 that the Sangh should not be taken as a political outfit just because of the presence of the Sangh's member in political organisations and for having its own flag.

"The RSS is neither a political outfit nor a para-military force. Its primary function is to unify society on the basis of Hindutva", Bhagwat in his address to the Sangh cadres.

Speaking at RSS Sarsanchalak in which people from other religion where invited, Bhagwat said that Hinduism alone has the ability to hold society together.

Bhagwat refused to comment on the change of leadership in BJP and advised the Union government to gear up to face challenges posed by hostile neighbours like China and Pakistan.

New Delhi, May 12: A day after Mayawati swept the polls in Uttar Pradesh, the RSS, the big brother of the Sangh Pariwar, today described her as the only non-BJP politician who had understood the dynamics of a united Hindu constituency. Mayawati like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the 80s had subtly advanced a 'soft Hindutva' line appealing to the so called 'Manuwadis' while telling her own Bahujan Samaj that their interest rested.....

BJP constitutes panels on economy and South Asia

New Delhi, July 20: The BJP today constituted committees on Economic Affairs and South Asian Affairs to be headed by former Union ministers Murli Manohar Joshi and Yashwant Sinha respectively. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of BJP General Secretaries, BJP President Rajnath Singh told newspersons. The committees will advise the party on issues relating to them. Mr Arun Shourie, another former union minister, has been appointed.....
